OpenHealth Technologies Raises $3M Seed Round to Make Lab Data Usable Across Healthcare

We’re excited to share that we’ve raised $3M in seed funding to build the central infrastructure for lab data — helping millions of people and organizations turn fragmented results into meaningful health insights!

The round was led by YZR Capital and backed by GoHub Ventures, xdeck ventures, Edenbase, and Exceptional Ventures, with renewed support from Octopus Ventures and Calm/Storm Ventures. This brings our total funding to $4.3M.

With this funding, we’ll accelerate our European expansion and further develop our AI-driven medical platform. With AI adoption accelerating and healthcare shifting toward personalization and prevention, the need for structured lab data has never been more urgent.

Healthcare’s Blind Spot: Billions of Lab Results Go Unused‍

Eighty percent of health data is unstructured and untapped — costing healthcare systems billions and slowing progress in personalized, preventive, and AI-driven care. Lab results are the biggest blind spot: they drive more than 70% of clinical decisions, yet billions of tests each year remain buried in legacy systems and fragmented (the same biomarker often reported in different units, ranges, or methods across labs).

The impact is significant:

  • Across health systems, up to 15% of diagnoses are delayed or incorrect, consuming 17.5% of healthcare spending — nearly €290 billion annually in the EU alone.
  • One in three adults with chronic conditions like diabetes goes undiagnosed, while even life-threatening diseases such as prostate cancer are often caught too late.
  • Patients feel this gap: a global survey found 94% of consumers view access to their health data as crucial, yet most still receive only static, hard-to-interpret reports.
  • For healthtech companies, building data-driven, AI-first products is prohibitively costly and slow, since tapping into lab data requires complex and resource-heavy integration.

"We need to shift the paradigm in healthcare towards empowering patients to take ownership of their health. Bringing health data together in one place with personalized content will be key to healthcare's future." said Oke Eleazu, NHS Trust Chair.

What We’re Building‍

At OpenHealth Technologies, we’re creating the central infrastructure for lab data through two core products:

  • Lab API — converts raw lab results from any source, whether PDFs or direct integrations, into harmonized, AI-ready data with clinical context and longitudinal tracking.
  • Health Portal — a central hub for interactive lab report visualization and document management, available as a white-label platform or embeddable components.

We already harmonize more than 3,500 biomarkers (and growing fast), applying deep medical reasoning to make results comparable across labs and over time. Our platform is secure, scalable, interoperable, and fully compliant with GDPR and LGPD.

Our modular technology powers a broad range of use cases. Healthtech and wellness companies embed OpenHealth’s API to bring lab data into their products, while clinics, laboratories, insurers, pharmaceutical companies, and longevity providers use it to track trends over time, deliver more personalized care, and improve patient engagement.

Trusted by Leading Health Organizations Globally‍

Founded by an international team with clinical, technical, and health system expertise, we’re trusted by leading health organizations globally — including Latin America’s largest diagnostics and hospital groups, Smart Fit (the region’s largest gym chain), European healthtech leaders like Aware, and a growing network of longevity providers across Europe and the Americas.

Our Mission

“Our mission is clear: we want to empower people and organizations to use health data better. Most lab results today are fragmented, unstructured, and underutilized. We’re changing that by building the rails for a smarter, interoperable health ecosystem,” said Gerrit Glass, CEO and Founder of OpenHealth. “With this new round, we’re excited to accelerate our growth alongside new investors with deep B2B SaaS and AI expertise.”

At the heart of this mission, we’re aiming to build the world’s largest structured biomarker database, with longitudinal data designed to positively impact over 100 million lives.

“OpenHealth is one of the leading AI-driven platforms to revolutionize lab data infrastructure. We’re proud to have backed the team since day one, and are impressed by the global reach they have achieved in such a short time. We are excited to continue supporting Gerrit and his exceptional team!” said Prof. Dr. Reinhard Meier, Co-Founder & Managing Partner at YZR Capital.

What’s Next‍

With this new funding, we’ll:

  • Accelerate our European expansion while continuing to build on strong traction in Latin America.
  • Empower more laboratories, healthtech startups, prevention and longevity clinics, supplement brands, pharmaceutical companies, and insurers to unlock the value of lab data and power new AI-driven products and care.
  • Advance our AI-driven technology to make lab data accessible to millions.

“We’re proud to support OpenHealth’s journey,” said Pablo Perea, Partner at GoHub Ventures. “Their solution addresses a critical pain point in healthcare infrastructure. With the global push toward interoperability and patient-centred data, their timing and technology are spot on.”
